HISTORY
Between 1741-1845 , Chhattisgarh was under Maratha rule & then under British rule. After independence , it was merged into Madhya Pradesh until 2000.It was separated from MP in
1 November 2000.The 1st Cm of Chhattisgarh was Ajit Jogi.
GEOGRAPHY
Chhattisgarh is one of the land locked states in India. It is bounded by Odisha in East , Jharkhand and UP in North , MP and Maharashtra in West , Andhra Pradesh in South. Mahanadi ,Narmada, Indrabati are its important rivers . Gaurlata is the highest Point in Chhattisgarh. Major Dams of Chhattisgarh include Dudhawa Dam of Mahanadi , Kutaghat Dam of Kharang river, Gangrel Dam (Longest dam of Chhattisgarh) Of Mahanadi etc.
TRANSPORTATION
The total railway network length in the Chhattisgarh is 1050 km. Raipur , Bilaspur ,Raigar , Durg are its important Railway station . Raipur Is well connected with Bhubaneswar , Delhi , Mumbai with Flight .The total Road length of Chhattisgarh is 34,900 km.
ECONOMY
Agriculture is the main occupation of the people of Chhattisgarh. Agricultural products include Rice , Arhar, Sal seed ,Chirongi etc. Major industry of the states are Mining industry, power generation Industry , Steel , Iron industry etc. Mineral found in Chhattisgarh are Iron ore, Coal, Manganeese etc.
